NeoResus First Response (Face-to-face at RCH)

Times: 9:00 to 12:00 (3 contact hours)

Dates: 01/02/24, 08/04/24, 17/06/24, 05/08/24, 18/11/24

Venue:  Royal Children’s Hospital, Melbourne 

The program comprises:

  • Completion of the neoResus e-Learning module (via the RCH Learning Management System)
  • An interactive presentation delivered by PIPER Neonatal Educators
  • First Response skills stations
  • Small group resuscitation scenarios facilitated by PIPER neonatal educators

NeoResus First Response Program 2024

Who should attend? 

This program is suitable for medical, nursing and midwifery staff and paramedics. We encourage host health services to select/nominate staff from a range of disciplines (midwifery, nursing, obstetrics, paediatrics, anaesthetists and emergency physicians) to participate in this program.

Which skills are covered in this program? 

  • Setting up and trouble-shooting manual ventilation devices (self-inflating bag and T-piece device)
  • Mask ventilation
  • Supraglottic airway (SGA)
  • External chest compressions

NeoResus Advanced Resuscitation (Face-to-face at RCH)

Venue: Royal Children’s Hospital, Melbourne 

The program comprises:

  • Completion of the neoResus e-Learning module (via the RCH Learning Management System)
  • An interactive presentation delivered by PIPER Neonatal Educators
  • Small group face-to-face first response and advanced resuscitation skill stations
  • Small group resuscitation scenarios facilitated by PIPER neonatal educators
  • Certificate of completion

Times: 9:00 to 16:00 (6 contact hours plus breaks)

Dates: 22/03/24, 14/06/24, 13/09/24, 08/11/24

Venue: Royal Children’s Hospital, Melbourne 

The program comprises:

  • Completion/Review of the neoResus e-Learning module (via the RCH Learning Management System, access provided on registration)
  • An interactive presentation delivered by PIPER Neonatal Educators
  • 20 participants per program
  • Multidisciplinary attendance
  • Includes certificate of attendance

Facilitator Workshop 2024

Eligibility criteria: Please check if you meet the eligibility criteria. Then email PIPER Neonatal Education with your expression of interest: Please include your name, organisation, current role and how you meet the eligibility criteria

We will contact you to advise if you have been offered a position at this program. Please note- places are limited at this program. Priority is given to applicants who meet all the eligibility criteria.

 

NeoResus: e-Learning module NEW! (2024) 

The neoResus e-Learning module (online) is available for individuals and healthcare organisations who wish to complete self-directed learning.

This adaptation of the neoResus program provides comprehensive coverage of the cognitive elements of first response and advanced newborn resuscitation.

The learning package includes:

  • Online access to a range of neoResus learning materials
  • 3 hours of contact time (completed online)
  • Knowledge checks
  • A certificate of completion once all elements are completed
