Your preparation prior to attending an Advanced Resuscitation practical program involves some web based pre-reading followed by an online quiz to demonstrate your understanding of the major principles of both First Response and Advanced Resuscitation interventions. 

You will need approximately three to four hours to undertake your pre-reading and a further 30 minutes to undertake your Advanced Resuscitation pre-quiz.

 

Compulsory pre-reading (online)

You will need to have read the following sections of the NeoResus web site:

  • Video 1: Setting up and trouble-shooting a T-piece device (Neopuff™)
  • Video 2: Mask placement and positive pressure ventilation
  • Video 3: Mask ventilation using self-inflating bag
  • Video 4: External cardiac compressions (ECC)
  • Video 5. Supraglottic airway (SGA/LMA)
  • Video 6. Intubation of the neonate (ETT)
  • Video 7. Umbilical venous catheterization (UVC)
  • Video: Intraosseous access (IO)

 

4. Online competency assessments: Advanced Resuscitation Pre Quiz and Post-Quiz 

Your program coordinator will send you a link to access the Advanced Resuscitation Pre-quiz and Post-quiz. Please complete the Pre-quiz after you have completed your pre-reading and reviewed the videos, but before your day of your program

Pre-Quiz: 

Prior to attending an Advanced Resuscitation training day you will need to have successfully completed the Advanced Resuscitation Pre-quiz, achieving 100%. This is a compulsory pre-requisite for attending the practical component of this course.

Post-Quiz:

After attending your Advanced Resuscitation Training day, you will need to complete the Advanced Resuscitation Post-Quiz, achieving 100%.

 

 

On the day of your training program, you will need to bring the following items with you:

  • A pen
  • Your hospital ID badge or lanyard
  • A surgical mask – N95 optional
